What's New at BJP in 2016? Let's Talk Seniors! | Dover OH senior photographer
I posted a couple of days ago about the changes/updates I was doing to my family photography. I have to say I am really excited about the traffic that that article got to have posted it on New Year's Eve. I hope people are as excited as I am!
Today, I want to take a little time and talk about how I'm going to up my senior photography game. Some of you may know that I am the mom of a Class of 2017 senior, so I am going into the next season with mixed feelings but excitement.
First big piece of news: no more rep program. Every face photographed by BJP is a representative of my company because I share my favorite photos here on my blog, on social media like Facebook and Instagram and in advertising. So, whether you're the first senior I photograph or the 50th, you have the opportunity to earn discounts and other cool stuff if someone uses you as a referral.
In place of the rep program, I will be putting together a model team for the Class of 2017. For my first year, most model team members will be my son Andrew and some of his friends from various schools, just to help me get the kinks out. Models will be by invitation only with referrals coming from previous models. Being a model is about more than being a pretty face-- my models will be the face of the BJP Seniors brand as the new season starts so they have to be kids others find interesting, look up to and relate to. I'm still working out all the perks to modeling, and I will start contacting model hopefuls in mid-February.
More session fun! I think BJP Senior sessions are fun, but I want to up the game with the next season. Opportunities like makeup and hair session add-ons before your shoot will be available with an awesome friend of mine. Bring your BFF with you and get a free photo with her. Fun ways to get creative yourself like taking over my Snapchat or Instagram during your session will be available.
I want to push things creatively with seniors this year! Let's get artsy and personal with photos that mean even more to you and your family. My Class of 2016 seniors all had such amazing stories that go along with their photos-- special locations, props and objects that connected them with their family or childhood, dreams of future endeavors. I really want to expound on that this year!
More session add-ons. Are you involved in band, sports or another extra-curricular activity? Session add-ons could include coverage of a game, match, event or show. Watch for more details in the spring when Class of 2017 packages roll out.
In-person ordering sessions. Starting with the Class of 2017, we will sit down together with a cup of coffee or a piece of cheesecake or some other bit of yumminess to view your complete gallery. You can ask questions. I can go over options available to you to make the most of your package ordering, other products you might not even know you want and payment plan opportunities. We can create a book together, canvas groupings, all kinds of cool stuff. Your galleries will be available to you online to share with friends and family or to do additional ordering later.
More communication to chat about style and trends before your session. Better communication will mean I can better understand what it is you want from your photos-- trendier, magazine-style photos, traditional styling, fun, personal touches-- or the perfect combination of all of them!
I am really looking forward to seeing where my senior photography is going to go in 2016. My Class of 2016 seniors were awesome kids, and I look forward to finishing up many of their sessions in the early part of the year. (Come on, snow!) I really do think this is the genre of photography that Barbara Jo Photography offers that has me the most excited about opportunities for both my business and my personal creative growth!
